Women In Leadership (Self Discoveries) - Week 3

Well week 3 of Women In Leadership I didn't attend because I was down with the well known 'Otter Plague'. Instead I thought that I would blog about a very interesting experience that I witnessed.
I am taking an INST class known as Self Discoveries.
It's main goal is to allow students to think outside what they always think and see through everything they always see.
We use semiotics to expand our imagination. Semiotics are little things that describe a certain thing in a very creative and colorful manner. Anyway getting back to the topic, my last self discoveries class we were taken to the theater at Otterbein. I'm not sure what it is called but it was outside in a lawn sort of area and it was beautiful.
We each had to describe what we saw around and let's say I said it's very grassy and green out here, that was not enough because I had to describe it in such a wide and colorful manner almost enough so that a blind man could almost see it when I described it.
We then went down to the stage and had to draw on the floor with chalk about anything we felt like writing about. So myself and 3 others wrote about chalk itself and described it in a FUN sense, SCHOOL sense, POWER sense, AUTHORITY sense, SEXUAL sense and MEMORABLE sense.
It was a lot of fun.
Then each of us had to explain what are group chose to write on and why we wrote about that particular thing. It was amazing because at the start we all thought that there is only so much you can describe about certain things, but Professor Hermson who is awesome by the way, taught us to think outside the box and never be afraid t even throw in crazy ideas, because most of the time, the crazy ideas are what truly opens your mind into the logical world.

That's about all I have to say for this week. I briefed about it because there is a lot to say if I semiotically say it.
